Blog - December Overview

Hi Blog,

2022 is about to end. Looking back on my overview this year, which was also the start of my urbex journey... Came to an end. There aren't any more unless I travel down to Malaysia to explore which I doubt.

What a short journey and I wished there will be more.

But it spiced up my 2022 experiences and I grew up a lot in terms of courage and confidence. Really take a bold move to explore such places (there are a few left and hope I can clear it by 2023). As for you, blog. Thanks for walking with me, I am glad to have you listening and accompanying me. Anyway, don't bore you with stupid feelings. Let's list out my December overview.

Previously, I went for my first official cosplay event here but it was not for any voluntary value in some sense as compared to today post.

I took leave to attend today's voluntary work so where was I going to?

And it will be a very short post because of some reasons which I will explain below.

Hiking - NS55 Interactive Trail Walk

Hi Blog,

Mr A (my army friend) showed me a trail on Friday (last min...) and asked me to bring him to complete this trail in the morning. What trail are you asking? It was about NS55 Interactive Trail hosted by Singapore Government. (news about NS55) Actually, it sounded exciting and it seemed like a short hike for the morning, so...

Let's GO! Cepat Jalan! (It is a drill command used in Singapore Army to mean quick march or walk fast in Malay.)

Based on NS55 trail site, this interactive trail has 7 discovery points and at each point, we can interact with the surrounding space with AR, information and quiz; which have significant value to Singapore's history. I read that there is a reward after the completion of the walk and I wondered what will that be?

Personal - Visit Range Again

Good Morning Blog,

Took a long weekend leave last Friday, since JH was away in the USA for his healing trip and I had spent my last Friday exploring already, Mr B will like to explore parks near his place.

Since I had gone to Rifle Range Nature Park and it is near his place, then let's visit that place again.

I read online, during the weekends, Rifle Range Nature Park was filled with visitors and I won't want to go there if it is crowded. Since it was Monday, it should not be that bad, right? Right? 😅

Trip - Rifle Range Nature Park

You know what? Recently, there is a new park just opened to the public! (news) I thought of going there immediately but I know it is not wise to because confirm crowded!

So I held my urge, tempted by many photos shared on FB and avoided the weekend... So I decided to visit that new park today!

Since I took leave today for the possible oversea trip but JH went 🇺🇸 alone so he can overcome his recent broken-up damage, then I shall plan my own trip in Singapore.

Personal - Suits for the Theme #72

Hi Blog,

Yes, you got it! Trisuit Theme again! My #72 entry! Nothing much but I managed to find an empty opening within the wood where I jog.

Looking back, I completed this theme last year; now I just look fatter and rounder... Aged... Envied those young ones but yet I take it as a new challenge of acceptance or just maintaining as much as I can.

Blog - November Overview

Hi Blog,

Life after covid, even though it may seem infectious with conditions like the common flu, fever and cough; in reality, are the symptoms of how our immune system reacted to the virus which affects our lungs and causes other complex issues including death. As I noticed my blood pressure shoot up high, I know it could get worse if our bodies can't win the war. Most importantly, our spirit must maintain positivity and readiness for whatever happens.

Hence November 1*1 is to remind me that our bodies and spirit must work together. How do I ensure both work together?

A few ways to ensure and maintain, when we see things, do we see it with our eyes or brain or someone who is looking out from a body window? When we react to any happening, do our mind/emotions just flow or deep reflection under the head shelter? Do we just breathe or constantly sense the airflow through our nostrils? Etc etc. 😂 There are more but I doubt anyone will bother to understand what I had shared above. I shall keep it short and journal my November happening below. Thanks, Blog for listening.

Personal - My First Official Cosplay Event

Hi Blog,

Funny thing was that I managed to get my new costume before the event (link)! 😂 What event you asked? D invited me to join a movie day event hosted by RMSS.

I got everything ready now, new helmet and costume! Let's go!

RMSS is a relatively reputable tuition center and they always host Movie Day in one of the movie theatres for their staff, parents and students yearly. D's wife happened to work there and the movie title happened to be Marvel movie hence they were asking for some people (that's where D invited me to join and I took this chance to dress up facing the people) to cosplay as superheroes to entertain and have a photo session with their guests.

Product - New Captain America Costume

Hi Blog,

You know what?! I GOT MYSELF A NEW CAP COSTUME! WAHAHAAH! I had been browsing through websites and app... I was eyeing an e-shop from Aliexpress - FairytaleLand Official Store.

I missed the opportunity to get this costume at a 15% discount... Now I could not regret my stupid decision but I understand there was a reason.

M and my sister just passed my birthday money to allow me to buy anything I want. (I mentioned to M before about me wanted to get a new comfortable suit) Now with the combination of funds, I can buy a better Cap costume! Even though, it is not the best version which will cost 600-700, but it is already good enough.

Hiking - Rainy Brown

Hi Blog,

These days, I got a few short hikes with friends and after my swim with W, I stepped out to catch up with some friends for a short hike. For today, I would be meeting Mr I. Long time never meet him and his wife allowed him to go for a hike, then better proceed.

If not, family man is rather difficult to have time for himself.

But somehow... Miss Sky had been very temperamental, this morning was great weather, next in an hour, stormy sky. Who upset Miss Sky?

Hiking - Visiting Uncle Tree

Good Morning Blog,

When I woke up, I realised something... It was raining! Today I supposed to bring a group of hikers to visit the Tree Shrine. I checked the WhatsApp, from 11 people down to 2.

Despite I suggested a postpone, but there were some enthusiastic hikers who will like to continue, which motivated some people to continue and I will not forcefully suggest a postpone.

Let's go! I thought it might park under my month overview but since there were more pictures, so it is going to be a post and that's why you don't get to see many of the scenery and progress shots.

Honestly... I understand writing blog is a personal thing; I do it for myself. But at times... Need new fresh ideas for my blog will be great way to motivate myself.

I know I am not someone who can easily earn followers or likes like tap water... But I just hope I won't bore you (my blog) or other potential readers. This theme I had gathered for two years, let it release.

Hiking - Lazarus Island Leading Hike

Good morning Blog,

After I returned from my KL trip, the next day (today) was Deevepali, a Public holiday. I had promised a group of people to bring them to explore Lazarus Island to find the hidden structures. Honestly, I don't have a good feeling though...

Yes! Today I didn't wear my usual attire. I just dressed up normally and maybe it will be my attire as I aged and fatter. Another reason is that I don't want my trisuit damaged while bashing through the wood.

This will be my second time visiting those abandoned structures and I will try my best to remember how to get there without missing my way.

Trip - KL Trip Day 3 - Last Day

Today was our last day in KL, I will say half day in KL.

So far our trip was decent and fun. What matters was whom we went with. Great to have my long known friends to explore KL and let's spend our few moment here to the fullest.

Trip - KL Trip Day 2 - Eating and Shopping

Today's KL experience will be a typical one - eat, shop, and nothing much besides complain section for some part! 😂 If you found it useful, that will be great.

After trying enough expensive food already yesterday, EK brought us to a place that is away from the city and where he used to visit with his deceased wife.

I will love some "normal" food than over-the-top food served in restaurants because I belong to the Low Social Economic Status.

Trip - KL Trip Day 1 - To Day 2

Oh man... I was so tired and bloated on our first day.

My phone suffered from low battery twice and by thinking through the number of pictures I took for my first day, I started to worry. 😂

Trip - KL Trip Day 1 - JN Petaling and the Hungry Tapir

Beside RexKL, there is a famous street market, Petaling Street. I thought of visiting some more night markets in KL but we didn't have enough time for such itinerary. I guess I will keep it for my next trip to KL.

The entrance looks like a typical street market in Taiwan. Don't you think so?

Trip - KL Trip Day 1 - BookXcess RexKL

Honestly, I don't know what is special in KL besides the Twin Towers and typical places like Sea Aquarium, shopping malls and restaurants etc

But this one brought the excitement out of me!

As titled, it is BookXcess. When I tried to google the location, I realised BookXcess has many branches in KL and I just wanted to visit this unique one at RexKL which hosts many unique arts.

Trip - KL Trip Day 1 - Times Square and RapidKL

Alright! Time to explore a bit of KL! Where shall we start?

EK suggested that we should go for breakfast at Times Square since he needed to confirm our return tickets which are near there, and then we would work our itinerary while having our breakfast.

Honestly, KL is a rather simpler and bigger version of Orchard Road in Singapore, we can get around anywhere we like by grabbing... Just that we don't have any idea what is interesting.

Ek told me, the swimming pool is located on the 35th floor and they will join me after an hour.

After two months of planning with EK and trying to get P to join our KL trip (because he has not been travelling for many years), today was the day!

After work, I went back home just to water my plants before rushing to take a bus coach at Golden Mile.

In my November 2020 post about my Captain America costume (link), there was one product which I am not proud of, which is its helmet. Just too... Cheap but I believe it can be put in good use.

And I went ahead and purchase a slightly better one. On the 31st August 2022, the product delivered!

This weekend I was supposed to be in Malaysia and chilled out but the traffic through the custom was a nightmare... (one lady shared her experience seven plus struck at custom) my friend decided not to go at the last min hence saving us from the patient game and Monday availability.

Trip - Dover Forest Part 2

Dear Blog,

On my previous trip to Dover Forest (link), we managed to cover the Eastern side of Dover Forest and from most of the pictures shared by many hikers, they found many unique trees!

And I wanted to catch (meet) them all; but it was raining heavily last Sunday... Hence I continued my catch today alone!

Today's weather should be fine... I hope and I hope I won't lost myself in the forest. Even though it is a small forest but I should be safe.

Trip - Dover Forest

Have you heard about Dover forest? If you have not, Dover forest is around the size of 46 soccer fields (consisting of western and eastern halves separated by a mowed grass lawn) and there are several endangered species living there. It is left untouched for over 40 years until the Government decided to clear the 33-hectare Dover forest for housing projects... You can Google for more information and news.

I had not been there before or even aware of this and happened to hear Mr L wanted to visit the site hence I tagged on his exploration.

Blog - July Overview

These few months I had been reflecting upon myself... especially my own emotional thorns which stuck with me for years... I want to remove it as much as I desired. (might not be as easy as someone/body said) But I must say... I see the pattern already and am able to identify the trigger points; honestly... I am really happy to be able to see myself.

Just like watching back an old movie; as we age, we will learn something new that we missed out on previously and now we have the wisdom/intelligence to tune toward the subtle information. And that is improvement in us.

If we can't learn anything new, usually due to we are still stuck in our old mindset or we can learn to drop it (no more value) and move on to something new. I will like to learn and move on. Anyway, here is my July overview, hope I won't bore you further.

Hiking - Revisit Fort Serapong and Connaught Exploration

I thought of going back home after my first visit but since I was there and it was an easy exploration, I decided to revisit one place to cover one area which I missed out on previously. (link)

Walking past this famous roundabout, Mr. Sun started to warm up the whole island.

I was thinking through... What should I do for my future revisit of places... Will I need to do the same thing? Hoping for inspiration...

Trip - Forgotten Sijori Wondergolf

The next day in the morning... Yes, I was still on leave. Do I waste it on sleeping? I will procrastinate if I just let go... Anyway, I pushed myself to wake up as usual...

I looked at the sky and knew Mr Sun was waiting for me.

Where shall we go this time? Mr Sun suggested "Lorong Terigu", a pin which I made on the map a long time ago and yet explored.

Trip - To Desaru

Oh yes! Finally came to the day when I could travel again, with JH's help. This time where were we going? Yes, the title stated, Desaru!

I took Friday leave and travelled across the border around noon to avoid the strawberry jam but still not as smooth as predicted and it was bearable.

Love to tag along on a trip that someone knows well, so I can feel safe and confident. Really can't tag along with unplanned trips. Especially I am not the driver so I just keep quiet and document my trip.
