If you had followed up my SG VFT survivor Clones from Update #1 until now... I had a Great time growing them which gave me joy and hope, but things started to make a turn (which you can read up on Update #5) then it just got worse and worse...
Today... I checked on their condition... I just felt so defeated and broken...
It has being a while since I updated my VFT growing experience. (here is the previous post #8th update) Honestly, my interest on VFT is dying off... one because I don't want to stain D's reputation with my failure and it is not a cheap hobby.
I bought another pot of live sphagnum moss because I wanted to grow more of them too.
Have you wondered how my VFT is doing so far? Based on my previous post, I decided to put them at a windy growing area and managed to squeeze out some space for them.
Here is a short update of my remaining drying VFT and new experiment. You may check my previous update here.
Three months ago, I have a tray of Live Sphagnum Moss and Pings which doesn't grow well at my VFT growing area, so I decided to put it outside my house together with my pitcher plants. Surprisingly, it actually grows well outside.
It is my 4th update of my VFT SG survivor clones; you may check the previous post here (3rd update) Overall, I have a fond pleasure of growing them and took a picture of them growing beautifully on 2nd June 2018. But... my fear came back... Something isn't right....
This is my 3rd Update of my SG VFT survivor clones (you can check 2nd update here), growing them is a joy so far. Unlike my previous experience won't last me for more than six months with some unknown problem, but I should not worry and enjoy whatever I can.
Today April Fool day, I finally have a good evening time to check out my VFT and new SG VFT survivor clones from D. You can check my first update here if you have missed out.
I did some update at my growing area - new VFT and pot.
It has been two months since I got my VFT - SG Survivor Clones from D (link). It is not a new cultivar but clones that can endure harsh weather in SG. All credit to D.
06 Feb 2018 - These VFTs just soak under 12 hours LED lighting. I was hopeful in the beginning but my curse seemed like doesn't end in the past...
Here is about my Venus Flytrap (Dionaea Muscipula) past collection. Previously I tried to grow them under light setting (below), they grew well for me for some months after that, all just died off...
I think the reason why they died - highly possible was they can't take our heat well.
Despite of install a cooling fan to cool them, they still said farewell to me... oh well... at least I still keep some of my dead VFT photos.
I happened to scan through my old hard disk and found all my past carnivorous plant pictures. So in this post, I won't go into detail. I will just summarise my whole experience - I grew many, bought many and failed to grow them... eventually painful lesson learned and money went down to drain. What is left behind, is the pictures of my glorious dead carnivorous plants.
My growing area of CP since 2007
I will advise my readers if you are reading it... Don't be like me... Overambitious unless you have a lot of money to waste for trial and error. Even if many claimed it is an easy plant etc etc, but to prevent painful lost, we just have to collect it one by one; keep it small. Hence it is maybe easy for certain people but it will be a different gameplay for individual. Like mine, lack of humidity as I stay at high floor, the condition is windy. Noon time, my place will be SUPER HOT and most of my plants will get scorched by it.
Oh my! Today our school was going out to visit Garden By The Bay for a staff retreat and this was my first time going into the domes for free. Cheapskate Jeff!
Anyway it was exciting to enter the domes, I also saw many people took amazing pictures inside the domes especially there is a carnivorous plants zone.
