Movie Review - The Lego Movie

Many famous movies from Disney and Pixel, they usually come out animation movies which have learning value and package with human touch. Just like an example of "Tortoise and Hare race", unreal character but with deep wisdom.

The Lego movie has those elements! Great storyline, music, concept, style and value! 

Here is my review! (Take note, all pictures are not owned by me, credit to whoever made this pictures)

Movie trailer:

The Lego Movie caught my interests due to its movie trailer. It showcases some famous action figures and interesting characters like Batman (let's be honest, everyone loves Batman), Wonder woman, Lincoln, Random Wizard and many more. The setup is just like Toy Story, you are entering a world of Lego! When we were young and playing with Lego, our dream was to build a Lego world with unlimited pieces and allow our creativity flow! They also have humorous dialogues to spice up the movie.

Many occasions, the movie trailers look exciting but the actual movies seem  so distanced apart. (Example like skyline... =.="' ) but I guarantee that Lego Movie has more to offer.

Here I am just doing personal reflections and thoughts I gathered from the movie. Okay. which one should I start... Hmmm oh yes, check out the voice casts poster below too. :)

Let's talk about the main character, Emmet. Love this guy! Not the gay way!

Characters development:

The Lego movie has gone through deep thought on individual characters in the movie. I will mention one will do - Emmet.

Emmet is the special one.

Treat everything positively!

Emmet is a typical Lego mini figure look or I will say the most common of Lego figure which portrays as a construction worker, just like construction workers build things with Lego bricks which Resembles us, When we were young or building things with Lego bricks, how dependence we were to check out the manual book or instruction book. And build out a standard output as told. We are just a common constructer who can't do anything greater than following instruction/manual. So that was why In the beginning of Lego movie, Emmet followed instruction or manual  books, which reflects ourselves too. We are not dare to be creative or innovative, best is to follow what others are doing.

Later part of the movie, Emmet realized that not everyone barely remember his existence after he was captured by the police officer, As he found a relic treasure struck on his back. This moment you can feel for Emmet , the outcast feeling was so strong. I feel so related to him and Emmet tried to take it "positively", those didn't bring him down, he accepted the fact - everyone won't be able to remember standard Lego face or lack of uniqueness personality like Emmet. 

Emmet was selected to the special one, the one which can save Lego world but Emmet is nobody. He can't build things unlike the master builders who can create things creativity and without manual. Emmet doesn't get any support from the master builders who have lost faith with him; even he has no faith with himself. But he learns to believe himself during the process even after (spoiler!!! The wizard told Emmet that he made  xxxxxxxxx-censored) Emmet sees it differently and inspired others to believe themselves.

In this world, Ironically everyone is trying to fight for certain limelight unconsciously and establish their uniqueness for others to remember their existence, like either you are good looking or stand out from the crowd or become an impactful people in life. Visa verse there are some people who will try to follow rules and seeking for a place to suit in. No matter what they do, they tend to lose themselves in the process because we look at things in a wrong direction. We should not see ourselves as individual; we should see ourselves "special" because we can even make others realize they are special too by encourage them, put down their difference and work together as a team, like Emmet and the song - everything is awesome! Everything is cool to work like a team.

There are many more characters to be mentioned, like police officer, the CEO, the Batman, wizard, Lucy etc. it is best to see on your own. :) you will enjoy it.

Movie style:

One cool thing has to mention, is the idea of using Lego style. I thought it is a stop motion but no! It is an animation! Wow!

Look at the detail! Really awesome! The texture and Even the explosion made up of Lego! 

They even conjoined the real world with the Lego world. Spoiler! Emmet is actually representing "someone upstairs" and The Lord business is "someone upstairs's father". I love the concept and idea behind this! When we were young, playing with toys, we will enter into another dimension! No more further spoiling. XD

Watch it and enjoy! :) Don't treat this like a typical Lego animation. It has depth in their storyline. Everything is Awesome!
