Hi Blog,
I saw Mr L's posts on a place and I didn't know there is such a place and decided to visit. Today will be a long day for me as there was a morning event at my workplace, so instead, I returned home to rest, why not I clear it at noon when no one will hike by then!
Just ready and wore the typical attire over my trisuit |
Yawning... hope today won't disappoint me. Let's go!
One fine day, I might dress up like this for a hike when I got older? |
For now, I will just enjoy the moment to be able to wear the suit. |
Sunny afternoon which was a positive sign that it would be a quiet hike! |
Cloudless some more! |
I was deciding whether should I visit the previous location again at Labrador Park... Here is the link that I posted in 2017. |
My camera was somehow trying to tell me to go for it |
And let's see what is new there. |
Alright, before I showed you this blog post's main content, let me show you around some places in Labrador Nature Reserve. |
First stop - a place which looks like a bus stop but it is not. |
Just check out how big this place is because this space was used to have a cannon facing the sea. |
Let's proceed to the next one :) |
At Labrador Park, try to walk around and explore, it is a perfect urbex experience for beginners |
A lonely pavilion which needs some people to be around |
Just admiring the beauty of this pavilion |
Let's take pictures together |
Saw this Banyan tree and it is so massive and filled with ants! |
An iron-casted history book |
Spent some good time reading about the history of Singapore |
Hope you will spend some time here |
Behind the iron- history book, there is a path |
Have some history lessons |
Love the tranquillity here and hiking during the afternoon is the best |
If mosquitoes were not active here, I could sit here throughout |
Hmmm I know there are some ruins somewhere here but somehow I felt great resistance to explore further... I will wait for someone to show me the way. |
The only ruin I can cover today is this safe area |
Should be easy for anyone to explore |
Hmm weird, I can't find the name for this area |
Many observation bays here where blocked by trees |
Nice tile to remind us where we are |
Sometimes I wondered if this place is not sealed... Must be exciting to know what is hidden inside. |
Ah, here is Gun Empowerment IV |
I wondered how much they spent to make a cannon like this for one use. |
I believe they will spend more on ammunition because the richer the country is meaning they will have power. If the enemy has more troops to spare, that will affect the whole war game. |
A well-preserved gun here. |
Trying to snap through the gun but failed to take it nicely. LOL! |
A hardworking soldier is watching over the sea (trees) to protect Singapore for life. |
What a long gun which does not go well with shortie like me |
1892 Entrance was sealed |
Here is a famous fortress - The Forth Gun Position |
Alright, time to focus on the main adjective, sorry for going off topic here |
But I can't resist the nice wall here |
Alright, where can I find the hidden location here... 🤔 |
Can you see the hidden building hiding behind the branches? I do. There are two areas where you can spot the building structure. |
If I have power, I will love to explore beyond this |
Light house or tower? 🤔 |
I always want to snap a picture with this circle and hope I can mount my camera at a higher ground to show you the size of it |
Since I knew there is a building structure here, I entered to any opening from the bushes to investigate the area, and I can see a grand structure standing in front of me but I can't find anywhere to climb |
Until I saw this. :3 |
I needed to climb up a 70-/+ degree slope which is quite risky especially wet ground |
On my left, there is a bright opening which I can see the open water |
Ah! I was so closed! More climbing! |
Just check this out, it was quite near the edge of the slope and high up down... One wrong step here, you are gone. |
Approaching! |
I wanted to walk towards the tower but the ground (rooftop looks unsafe) I will explore the bottom first. |
A wide opening space which I don't see the "slot" for the big guns |
What a tall ceiling for a short gun like me (pun intended) |
Any wall without monitoring will be cursed by graffitis |
Ooooo the way to the tower? But it's a dead end because the stair was broken off from here |
There were ants everywhere! You can't stay at one spot for too long before the ants investigate you |
I wondered can the graffiti be more artistic than vulgar... |
The structure here seemed like enforce by metal steel to hold the structure... Seemed risky... |
A corridor to other rooms |
Small empty rooms I wondered what was the use of these rooms |
Solid wall and narrow corridor will help to defend against any enemies that appeared in this area. |
Before any enemies showed up, they can defend (fire) through this small opening window and it is quite effective as you have enough space for your gun left and right. |
Metal door and thick wall can lock yourself inside unless they used a bomb here |
It seemed like Ghost Hunters Singapore had been here. it was a clean room and only this graffiti |
Looking back and trying to feel the history replaying in front of me... The time when it was peaceful and the time when everyone struggled and panic because the invasion did not come from the sea. |
Oooo another similar area. Did you notice the metal bar to support the structure? There are a lot of crack lines which makes it a high-risk zone for any frequent visit. From what I can see... The Singapore government might have considered converting this place to the public before, but due to its unstable structure, and requiring high maintenance fees and techniques, hence it is best to leave it hidden and forgotten... |
Like a cult sign |
The big circle opening might also mean... this zone was used for a cannon gun aiming at the sea. |
With many watch towers beside it. |
Ah! Here was the room where they kept their ammunition and gears |
They got headsets, microphones, antennae and masts, cables, batteries, webbing, amplifiers, radio and many more. |
A window for passing the stuff to the soldiers and no other exit |
The ceiling seemed like it was enforced with a lot of ceiling-supporting bars. |
Trying to look cool at the door, thinking why I am so smart. 😓🤮 okay... I feel disgusted with my speech. Move on. |
Exploring the tower, I noticed the metal railing was broken... Which shows its age and nothing will last. There was a room on every floor and this room looked like a resting room where they hang something here. |
A metal staircase to the second floor |
Okay... There were many steps that started to rust and gave way, advisable don't explore further up and add more pressure to the stairs. Personally, I just stepped on the side of the stairs to get up there to take a quick look |
Crack lines are everywhere around the tower, so give the most a few more years and this tower will be gone. |
The 2nd Floor - typical standard empty room |
Missing step to 3rd floor |
3rd floor without the pillar |
4th Floor. If they draw a big circle of graffiti on the floor, might be able to summon something... If I have the resource and allowance, I will draw one nice summon circle. |
5th Floor last floor - spacious room |
It seemed like there is no more beyond this tower |
Returned to the first zone |
And take this chance to transform to do more investigations. |
Posed in my spidery suit and some visitors at the bottom spotted something red, then I quickly hid myself. |
Spidery on the investigation! |
Investigating the defects of this area |
Using my spider senses |
Entering dark areas |
Looking for aliens |
I can hear the soldiers in the past laughing at this clown 😂 |
I shall parade and show them my favourite superhero - SpiderNerd |
Came from an alternate universe |
Lastly, made the last shot looking back the past |
To the soldiers in the past, Thanks for keeping me safe while exploring. I will remember you guys |
Overall, it is an interesting place to explore but I will only bring a few people than a large group there. "They" prefer quiet space than rowdy. I will visit again.
Jeff
On 9th Aug 2022, I came here again and explored some newer areas here. You can click
