Trip - Free Trip to Lazarus

Good morning, Blog,

Today, I took a leave because I needed a break, wanted to try something new, and wanted to see how crowded it was. As the title suggests, I will be visiting Lazarus Island!

I took a deep breath and felt the light shining on me.
In addition, I can test out my recently acquired drone, though I don't know how it will perform there. Let's proceed now!

I wore it like a red packet so that I could be a blessing to the island.
RD also wanted to go to the island to relax because he needed a break from his work and family, so an island trip might be beneficial.
It's the same old place, Marine South Pier, but it's less crowded on weekdays - the best!
Yippee! Guess what? I finally finished the stamps! A free ticket and trip for me today! Time to start the stamp-collecting madness all over again!
Ooo, there have been new changes to the ferry schedule for the Singapore Island Cruise. They may make changes in the future, so consider this a temporary adjustment until February 2025. Who knows when they will make another change? Personally, a change in timing means they are attempting to adjust based on visitor feedback, which is commendable.
RD arrived before me, and I assumed he was eager to get to the island as soon as possible.
Oops, Mr Sun was so happy today; I could feel his excitement.
The ferry was almost empty, but later, it was filled with visitors and workers. But there were not many today, so I was happy.
It had been a while since I would go up to the open deck to enjoy the breeze.
However, there are times when it can become smokey.
It is time to return to the air-conditioned deck. Haha
At the very least, you will be able to enjoy the sail while remaining cool.
I can not believe how bright my outfit was, or maybe it is because RD's was darker.
Oh, something different today... We were sailing towards a new destination...
Oh! They parked us at Pulau Seringat Jetty near the glasshouse, which is closer to the beach!
And we will not be returning to this deck to take the ferry back; instead, we will have to travel to St. John's Island.
This is great news for me because I will not have to walk all the way to the beach!
Oooo, a map of Lazarus Island. This was the first time I had seen it.
The colours of the sky and water were so calm and beautiful; it felt like home.
Here they are: tiny houses, aka expensive houses.
(credit RD) Yippee, today I am staying here (in my dream).
They now have this glamping site, which is not cheap... With that money, I will go to Bintan. I suppose the lack of other amenities makes this location unappealing.
Even without amenities, this location should be avoided and kept simple; however, I understand that the wealthy will not pass up this opportunity to earn extra money, while reminding me of the importance and cost of maintenance involved.
(credit RD) For now, I will just enjoy the moment before things get worse.
They really clean up the beach, and maybe fewer people are visiting this island on weekends, or there are less litter, which is unlikely.
It seemed like no one today! 😂
Oh my goodness, this pavilion has been upgraded! It was previously made of wood panels with burn holes.
I was able to set up the tent quickly, thanks to my experience and the assistance of RD. Xxxx
Perfect space to zzz...
Some people asked why I did not put it by the beach sand; would not that be more useful for pitching a tent than pitching under a pavilion? To be honest, I just do not want to collect sand after it is been used. But, think again... Sands are unavoidable unless I properly clean it... Perhaps I should do it on my next trip.
For the time being, do it here one last time. Now I began to think... I prefer instant setup, which I previously had, over this.
Time for some ugly-me moments! Oh, and I took a picture here because the area had been flattened due to overgrowth with long grass (see one of my February 2024 photos).
The blue sky and the warm sun energised me.
And I wanted to get a nice tan, but it was never balanced.
RD was curious about what I was doing, and he simply judged me behind the camera. So embarrassing...
I could have been more creative with this perspective shot, but I was feeling drained.
Perhaps I could try this area.
There are no other creative ways to take a good photograph unless I have a photographer.
It does not matter; it is time to go to sea!
Yippee! The whole beach is mine! After a while in the water, I felt a sting along my legs and stomach; I believe jellyfish were nearby. Oh man... Why...
It was time to test my drone on the beach. However, the fun was short-lived because the warning indicated that we should not fly above the water (reflective surfaces), and the wind was strong here. I wanted to take a photo from the water, but the strong wind blew my drone backwards, preventing it from determining which direction to fly in, even though I pressed the forward button.
Fortunately, I was able to retrieve my drone from landing in the water or blowing away from me, so I took one last picture on land and decided not to risk it any longer because I was still trying to overcome the scenario.
I am unable to enter the water because of jellyfish, and I have overcome my fear of losing my drone... The safest thing to do now was...
Rest inside my tent.
I took some more photos while other people approached the pavilion for their own photos and left some judgement over my attire.
I was supposed to sunbathe by the beach, but I realised I should leave my mat on the sand instead of inside the tent.
Rather than wasting RD's time, let us go back.
So we gave ourselves an hour to walk and clean up before the ferry arrived.
I forgot to bring washing lotion because I used an oil-based moisturiser on my fat body; I guess I will have to wash thoroughly.
Cool and refreshing!
So, whoever is reading this stupid post, we must board the ferry at the ST John's Island Jetty, regardless of where we landed.
I suppose if I do not have anything in the late afternoon, I will have to stay longer.
Now trying to catch a power nap on the ferry before the evening arrives.
I hope RD had a good time here, even if it would have been nice to stay in the water a little longer but was spoilt by jellyfish... It seemed like I should have a plan B in case there was a jellyfish in the sea... Perhaps that is where I will switch to another beach.
I plan to return next time to get a proper suntan and let my tent feel the sand, which will help me decide what type of tent to buy in the future. If Decathlon makes a pitch black version of a quick setup tent, I will sell mine right away.
