Hiking - 2025 First Hike

Hi Blog,

Happy 2025! Yes! First hike! Essentially, I wanted to take my new camera for a walk to familiarise it with the places I usually visit, as well as hiking that I had missed.

Today was blessed with nice weather! Thank you Heaven.
So where will I be hiking today? Maybe one of my favourite place - Bukit Brown! Let's go!

Oh dear... My camera has a low battery, so I need to charge it before going out; my camera was turned on unintentionally for a while without my knowledge, wasting battery power.
Fortunately, I had a fast charge plug, which sped up the charging process but also wasted a lot of time, so I used that time to write my Vietnam posts.
My new filter (which I broke during my trip to Vietnam) makes the sky and surroundings appear cleaner and sharper.
While hiking, I kept wondering how long it would take me to complete my blog. Should I take a similar approach? Publish images without text, or complete them first and then publish?
Oh well, the main goal is to de-stress myself.
Ah! I purchased a hiking stick from Decathlon.
What is the point of having a hiking stick? To be honest, it does not help me at all.
Personally, a hiking stick will not be useful on flat ground.
However, on previous hikes, especially in long grassy areas, I had to step forward without knowing if there was stable ground to step on, so having a hiking stick to test will be useful.
Ooo, something new here. They reused the tombstone plates to make a stone hedge formation, which is very cool!
Hmm, I can not show much, and I think shooting from a higher elevation will help, but my tripod stand has a limit. You will see; I might have to wait for my Christmas present to arrive before I can do such tasks.
I believe there are numerous things to discover in Bukit Brown; I will show my new camera in various locations next time.
The hiking stick serves as more of a weapon than a tool.
Because if I use the hiking stick on the pavement, it will turn into a walking stick. I do not mind using it as a walking stick, but my hands will be occupied because I am always carrying my phone and camera... So, in order to use the hiking stick, I must put my phone away.
Today I decided to explore a location where I was obstructed by fallen trees. I was wondering if they had removed it?
Oh, and the hiking stick came in handy here. There was some leaf debris in front of me, so I poked the spot where I would put my foot, and it was soft, so I would have to avoid it.
I remembered why I had gotten a hiking stick: to see if there was a snake ahead of me and to keep myself from getting tangled in nature.
There are no more fallen trees, but one or two smaller ones remain uncleared.
Check this place out. Do not you worry about stepping on hidden snakes? I was worried at first, but after a while, I felt safe because I left myself in Heaven's hands, but I also needed to play my part and be cautious.
Most of the time, I get lost in the woods, especially here... But the things that were left behind gave me a hint of where I should go.
This can be both useful and misleading.
Oooo, I have never seen a small staircase before.
Hmm, something new! Time to mark it on my map.
I had a feeling that if I continued down, I would find the place I was looking for.
Which direction should I go to?
Do you see that wall? That led me to believe we were either inside or outside the compound.
The legendary Chin Chung Public School. You can also get more information from a blogger. Fascinating information!
Taking pictures here is now an amazing experience thanks to a new and improved camera. Can't do without it.
I just hoped the camera won't drop anymore.
I wanted to dress up as a superhero and take pictures here, but first I wanted to see other places. I do not want to spend too much time here.
I could sit here and relax for a while, but the ants got annoyed with me.
I guessed it was time to return and explore other areas.
Goodbye, Chin Chung Public School! I hope to see you again!
Today, I was supposed to buy a birthday cake and make a restaurant reservation to celebrate my mother's birthday, and I was wondering if I would still have time to visit the next Bukit Brown location.
Let's go! I will make it quick.
Ooo, they took down some of the tall trees here... Why did they remove it?
Oh well... At the very least, the photographs taken here will be slightly brighter.
Can not wait for my Christmas present for myself to arrive; can you guess what it is?
I did not realise how long the path to the next destination was... I might have to speed up.
I sort of missed my favourite viney trees while jogging... It is too bad they cut it down...
I hope they will not cut down this tree. My short tripod has some limitations in terms of where it can stand because its foot must be placed on a flat platform; otherwise, the tripod will collapse due to the mass at the higher point.
My hiking stick should have provided me with adequate support.
But in the end, I just kept behind me because I can do it without it. What a waste of money! 😂
Hi insta360. Let me show you an abandoned car - an interesting sight to see here.
There are some more lying around here.
Watching the abandoned car slowly decompose is an interesting thing to see, regardless of whether I visit here; one day it will be completely consumed.
I will be here for you and never forget you.
You sure? You want to carry me?
I climbed up the abandoned car, being cautious about where I stepped. Thank you car for keeping me safe.
Oh no, I couldn't stay here too long... It was getting late for my next errand. Sorry, insta360; I will show you around again.
Let's go.
Hmm... I had planned to travel by bus... My next errand will be to buy birthday cake...
Birthday cake settled.
I can not get over how adorable this otter from The Green Party is.
Aww... Too cute already.
I apologise for digressing. Back to the title, my first walk in 2025 was enjoyable, and hopefully there will be more in the coming days. I hope I will continue to improve.

Jeff
